Writers' Workshop is the time when we learn new strategies for writing and then have lots of time to practice.

There are four writers' workshop units in first grade:
1. Personal Narrative-writing stories about yourself
2. Opinion Writing-reviewing books, restaurants, toys and stating your opinion
about an important topic with reasons.
3. How to Books- writing the steps to show someone how to do something
with a list of materials.
4. Informational writing- choosing a topic to teach someone about using
informational text features such as table of contents, glossary, labels, titles,
diagrams, and photographs.

At the end of the school year, we practice poetry too!

This section will be a place to see what we are working on, charts and strategies for writing!
